Protected Designation of Origin of Urbezo

 

• Location: In the centre of Aragón, 45 km from Zaragoza. South of the Ebro Valley, equidistant to the main Spanish cities: Madrid, Barcelona, Bilbao and Valencia. 
  
  
• 16,600 hectares of vineyards, located in 14 different villages and cultivated by 9.000 wine producers.
  
  
• Altitude: Between 400 and 800 m.a.s.l.
  
  
• The most ancient Protected Denomination of Origin in Aragón and one of the first in Spain.
  
  
• The origin of the vineyards in Aragón goes back to the 3rd century B.C, to the old Roman village, today the city of Cariñena.
